Gayle R. Day

A long-time resident of Milwaukee, died on February 25, 2018 at the age of 86.

Gayle was born on March 27, 1931 in Elderon, WI to Guy and Orva Day. He joined the Army in 1949 and served his country for six years. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a welder and mechanic. He was proudly employed as a welder by Harley-Davidson HQ in Milwaukee for 30 years until his retirement in 1996. In retirement, Gayle enjoyed feeding the birds & squirrels, winning bingo, and helping his neighbors with their lawn mowing and snow removal needs. He was a lifelong Packers fan who enjoyed NASCAR and the Brewers during the Packers off-season.

Gayle is survived by his children Larry (Aniwa, WI), Debbie Rowe (Troy, IL), Dennis and wife Alice (Bolivar, NY), and Rick and wife Cheryl Duford (Portsmouth, NH); his sisters, Doris (Huckbody) and Verna (Emmel), and brother Alan; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Veronica (Ronnie), his brother Garold, and sister Eleanor (Kilby).

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, WI on Friday, March 9, 2018 4:00 PM – 6:45 PM. Funeral Service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 West Greenfield Avenue, New Berlin. (Please meet at the cemetery).
