Jerry passed away peacefully on January 8, 2019, at age 73. Jerry was born on November 16, 1945 in Mayville Wisconsin to Dr. H.C. and Cleo Plautz. Jerry graduated from Mayville High School with the class of 1964.  After high school Jerry joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country from September 1965 until his honorable discharge in June of 1969, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam from June of 1968 until April of 1969.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (nee Nierode) Simpson, loving father of Matt (Amy), Mark, Sean (Mary), Simpson, and James Simpson. Proud Grandfather of Dominic, Patrick, Andrew and Robert.  He is futher survived his sisters and brother-in-laws, Suzanne (Denis) DelPonte, Ann (Gerald) Oehmen, and Debbie (Bruce) Carlson. Jerry will also be missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. H.C. and Cleo Plautz, and his brother and sister-in law, Roy and Carol Rahn.

 

Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. A service will follow at 3:00 PM.

A heartfelt thank you is given to daughter-in-law, Mary, for her tender care of Jerry. The family also wishes to extend special thanks to Allay Hospice, especially to Nicole and Renee, for their compassionate care.
