Grace Rytman (nee Adamczyk)
Passed into Eternal Life on March 12, 2021, at the age of 87 due to complications of Alzheimer’s. Preceded in death by her husband Donald. Loving mother of Michael (Charlene) Rytman, Donnie (Peggy) Rytman, Roberta (Ron) Prospeck, and Patty (Frank) Eder. Proud grandma of Michael (Sarah) Rytman, Angela Rytman, Brian Rytman, Kathryn Rytman, Oliver Rytman, Nicole Prospeck, Nathan Prospeck, Zach (Lauren) Eder, and Alex Eder. Great-grandma of Noah, Rylan, Ariah, Max, Georgia, and Margot. She will also be missed by many other family and friends.
Grace met her husband Donald in kindergarten at Kosciuszko School in Cudahy. Their friendship grew through grade school and high school where they were crowned Cudahy’s Homecoming King and Queen in 1951. They secretly eloped in 1955 when Don was home on leave from the army.
Together, as devout Catholics, they were blessed with four children and 60 years of marriage. Mom worked very hard at several jobs supplementing the family income. She retired from Oak Creek High School after 25 years of service. In addition to her work outside of the home, she was “caregiver extraordinaire” to Don, who for forty-plus years suffered from Multiple Sclerosis.
Grace was a social butterfly who met and maintained many friendships from grade school, high school, neighborhoods where they lived, and her beloved Rock Lake in Lake Mills.
In addition, she and Don cherished the countless friends they met through Oak Creek High School and the VA, where Don received some of his care.
A special thank you to Jen and her amazing staff at Hartland Terrace for the passionate and loving care they gave Mom each and every day.
