Holstein, Horst O. Age 89. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 27, 2022. Dear twin brother of Helmut. Beloved husband of the late Vera (nee Caspers) for 48 years. Age 89. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 27, 2022. Dear twin brother of Helmut. Beloved husband of the late Vera (nee Caspers) for 48 years. Cherished father of Karen (Al) Hanson and Diane (Scott) Brzenk. Loving grandfather of Brittany, Brad, Alyssa (Brian), Brett, and Claire. Great-grandfather to Blair. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in both the US and Germany. Preceded in death by his sister Brigitte and his brother Siegfried. Proud veteran of the US Army, serving in his native Germany. He worked for 30 years as a Tool and Die maker for American Motors, both in Milwaukee and Kenosha. He enjoyed woodworking and could fix anything. Above all, Horst loved spending time with his family, especially the morning coffees with his twin brother.
Visitation to be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM with a service and interment to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park – Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Between 1991 and 2001 my wife and I lived across the street from Horst. He built the dormer over our back door. He also did the aluminum trim work on all the first floor windows. The guy we hired to do the upper windows told me later “that I’ve been doing aluminum trim work for over 10 years and your neighbor showed me a few things I never knew. He’s really good”. Horst was a good man and a great neighbor/friend.

Deepest condolences to the family and especially to Helmut. Horst was a great neighbor to our moms and us, always offering help and greeting with a smile. He sure loved his family and was very proud of all of them. He will be greatly missed. 🙏🙏

Horst was an amazing uncle. I was very fortunate to be able to see him like I did. Our photos with the girls will never be the same. Our holidays and Summer sit downs in moms back yard are something I will cherish forever. Say hi to the rest of our family in heaven. Keep the rest of us safe and healthy. We love you endlessly. Until we meet again ❤
