Ann Petersen left a message on June 6, 2020:
Hugo, my friend, I miss you. You brought your silly smile with you everywhere. Working side by side with you, I couldn't have asked for a more caring and helpful person. Whether it was going to Fuego with the group, doing sweeps for garbage and cars in the alleys, attempting electrical homework ( or just letting me copy off you), shooting the shit in the office...I could go on and on. But through all of that, you always brought a positive attitude, funny jokes and bright energy. You will be missed dearly. Thank you for never annoying me at work (when everyone else did) and thanks for never questioning me when I needed your help. Thank you for teaching me about work and just general life. Thanks for always putting up with my questions about my car (since I knew you were the only one that actually knew what needed to be done) I will bring your positive energy with me everywhere I go, and aspire to have the care free and loving soul that you still have. Thank you for being you. Take Care Hugo, my friend always and forever. I love you.

I've known Hugo for at least 33 yrs or so. Hugo I'm sorry for not being a better to you, because you have never treated me like anything other than a brother. One thing about Hugo you never left his company not feeling the love he had for you or his family. He always welcomed everyone and treated everyone with respect, something this world rarely sees these days.. The world has lost a great man, dad, husband, grandfather, and most a amazing human being. To his wife, children, grand kids, brothers and sisters I am so sorry for the loss of Hugo.
