James D. Reise

Of Venice, FL and Waukesha, WI. Born December 8, 1928 to Howard and Elizabeth Reise in Milwaukee, WI. Passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth E. Reise (nee Werner); children David D. Reise and Cynthia (Daryl) Wessel; and grandchildren Lauren and David Wessel–all of Waukesha. Also survived by his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Bukoske of Milwaukee, along with many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Catherine Reise, and brother Donald Reise. James graduated from Bay View High School in 1946. He served his country during the Korean War and married Ruth on August 15, 1953 in Milwaukee. After working at General Electric/Hotpoint in Milwaukee, he began his career in real estate as a partner at H&R Realty in Milwaukee. He later went to work as a real estate appraiser for the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, located in Milwaukee and later in Waukesha. After residing in Milwaukee until 1970, Jim and Ruth moved to Pretty Lake near Dousman. They both were active in the Pretty Lake Advancement Association, serving as officers. After retirement, they resided in Venice, FL and Waukesha, WI. Jim became a member of Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Englewood, FL and was confirmed on November 19, 2000. He enjoyed spending time hunting with his son and friends, fishing with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife Ruth.
