I was a Junior in high school at Mahtomedi when Chip moved to town. I didn't get to know Chip until the spring of that year when we both competed in Track & Field. I have fond memories of playing backgammon with Chip in the pole vault "pit", not before pactice, not after practice, but during practice. He was crazy fast. A typical relay event would consist of Chip leading off, handing me the baton well out in first place and me handing the baton off somewhere around last place. I saw very little of Chip over the years. Watching the video tribute, I see that was a mistake on my part. When we did get together our common thread was we both managed restaurants - it was always fun to talk "shop" with him. So sad - goodbye Chip

Chip fought with such courage! There is a very special place in Heaven for him. My prayers are with Marcia, Steve, and their whole family, as well as all the friends that Chip was able to touch with his heart all through his lifetime.

Our deepest sympathies to Chip’s family and especially to Sandy my oldest and dearest friend. Many fond memories of times spent with Chip. I remember Chip being our first guest at our new house on Girard Ave after he moved back to Minnesota. He was a kind gentle soul and will be sorely missed. May he Rest In Peace in Paradise. We will be donating to the National Kidney Foundation in his name. This is a foundation we strongly believe in. Our Nephew Arric received the gift of life-a new kidney on February 18. Sadly, we are unable to attend Chip’s services, but we’ll be holding him and his loved ones in our hearts. Karen and John Hudson
