Age 84, of Muskego, Wisconsin, went to her eternal home with the Lord on August 4, 2021. Her life was centered around Jesus Christ, the church, and her family. Among Janice’s favorite Bible verses were Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Janice met her husband Richard in Wausau, Wisconsin. They were married on October 20, 1956, and this year would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. Richard and Janice were soulmates – their love for one another has been evident and inspiring to all who knew them. Janice loved reading the Bible and other books, gardening, cooking, baking, home decorating, fashion, healthy living, and gathering with family and friends.
Janice is survived by her husband Richard, her daughter Julie (David) Ellis of New Berlin, Wisconsin, daughter Laurie (Tom) Walters of Denham Springs, Louisiana, son John (Mary) Doede of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and daughter Lisa (Steve) Mellone of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She is further survived by her grandchildren Joshua, Sarah, Beth, Mary Catherine, Mitchell, Trevor, and Matthew, and 7 great-grandsons, as well as her brother Philip (Ginger) McCullough, sister Susan (John) Brothers, brother-in-law Philip Rothman and numerous other members of her extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Simeon and Vera McCullough, her sister Marcia Rothman, and her infant sister, Mary Ellen.
A memorial service for Janice will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. A gathering for family and friends will be from 4:00 PM – 6:45 PM, and the service will be from 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Elmbrook Humane Society.
