(nee Pulse), 89, of Milwaukee died May 1, 2008, at Ruth Hospice. She was an accomplished pianist and organist who played for many services at Trinity Village retirement community, where she lived with her twin sister, Janice Schierhorn, for the past 20 years. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Milwaukee Branch, serving as president from 1992 to 1993, P.E.O. sisterhood, and the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Whitefish Bay. For many years, she was an administrative assistant in the president's office at Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee. She was born April 29, 1919, in West Liberty, Iowa, and graduated from Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Ill., with a B.A. in English in 1941. She was married to Robert P. Carroll, an engineer, from 1957 until his death in 1988. Besides her sister, Janice Schierhorn, she is survived by nephews, Carl Schierhorn (Ann) of Kent, Ohio, and Paul Schierhorn (Maria) of Weaverville, N.C., great-niece, Karen Schierhorn of New York City, and great- nephew, Will Schierhorn of Weaverville. After cremation, interment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, Wis., in a private ceremony. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending.
