(Nee Costello) passed away on March 6 surrounded by the family she cherished. She was born September 4, 1926 in Fond du Lac and grew up on the family farm. After graduating from Whitewater Teachers College with a degree in business education, she taught at Kewaunee, West Bend, Wauwatosa, Nicolet, Whitefish Bay and Brown Deer High Schools. While teaching at Nicolet, she met her husband, Jim Reiels. Together they instilled their love of life and faith in their three sons.
Jean was loved by all. Her Irish spirit and wit endeared her to her family and countless friends. Whether it was in teaching, playing bridge, traveling, relaxing on Moon Lake, volunteering or at church, people enjoyed her company. Most of all, she was a devoted mother, wife and grandma.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Michael (Julie), Brookfield; John (Diane), Germantown and Brian (Michele), Thiensville. She has seven grandchildren: Patrick (Katie), Christopher, Matthew, Nicholas, Kathryn, Erin, Collin and one great granddaughter, Scout. She was preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Irene Costello, husband James, and sisters Alice, Margaret, Helen Jane and Patricia.
Her celebration of life will be at Immaculate Conception Church, Watersmeet, Michigan on March 24th, 2018 at 11:00 AM with a visitation starting at 9:30 AM.
