Denise left a message on January 18, 2019:
Jennie and I met in 1967. We both were members of a Girl Scout Mariner troop. Jennie was a hilariously sassy, smart-mouthed 13 year old that made quite an impression on me. We lost touch for a few years. In 1973, I was in an accident and hospitalized for weeks on St. Mary's orthopedic floor. In walks Jennie, in a nurses uniform and bedpan!!! Oh, we had a great time, laughing and reminiscing like two old ladies. She was just what the doctor ordered. We lost touch with each other, as many of us do but I never forgot her genuine kindness, caring and crazy humor at I time when I most needed it. I can only imagine the pain and sorrow her loved ones feel at the loss of Jennie. Isn't it funny how one person can make such a difference in another's life. I only wish that our paths would have crossed one more time so I could have told her how much her kindness and booming laughter made my miserable time bearable. Rest in peace crewmate.
