I just found out this evening about Jess's passing. I am still in shock. I have known Jess for over 20 years. I only saw her sporadically, but every time I did, she beamed with her glowing smile and a warm hug. I will miss her tremendously. Over the years she always, always had an infectious smile and friendly words. The last few times I saw her, she was concerned about her health, as I was. Why no one could figure out something other than vertigo. It didn't make sense and I worried for her, as she wasn't quite the same. I am so terribly sorry to hear of her passing. I am at a complete loss. She was such an amazing person. She was such a true, heartfelt person. A person that sincerely cared about others. She was so positive and happy and upbeat. Always fun to be around. She will be so sincerely missed. And I'm so very sorry I didn't know sooner and didn't know in time to pay my respects and say a proper good bye. My sincere sympathies to her family and close friends. She will leave a big void. I'm so sincerely sorry for your loss. Jess was just amazing. And I'm so glad I had the chance to know her for so long. Rest in peace Jess! I will miss you friend!

we are never prepared for the loss of a loved one. No word would be enough to express the sorrow caused by this disappearance and nothing could appease it. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

When traveling with Jess to British Isles or Alaska, she was always willing to go on new adventures and appreciated the beautiful sites. Although apprehensive about zip lining, Jess jumped on the opportunity to try something new. Jess was never a quitter- in her last days on earth, she was throwing axes at our family get together before Christmas, and although her axe did not stick to target, she laughed, enjoyed a White Claw while joking around with everyone. Her zest for life was endless. We love you Jess and know you will always be with us in our hearts.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Highschool shannanigans...girl scouts...local band concerts. We had so much fun. Jess had a laugh you will never forget and was always fun to be around. I am glad she got to travel and see the world before she was taken so soon.

Jess was my confidant and dear friend. She never passed judgment. She loved her friends and family so dearly. I will miss her presence, words, laugh, insight and love for the rest of my life. It was an incredible blessing and joy to know her for the few years that I did. Ortiz...I will always love you and never forget your gorgeous soul.
