Joel passed away suddenly in the comfort of his Beaver Dam home October 30, 2016 at the age of 59. Born October 26, 1957 in Milwaukee, WI to Joseph and Jean Bednarek. Loving father of his two sons, Ryan and Brandon. Cousin of Jack (Janelle), John, Michael and Gregory Janz. Brother of Mark Bednarek, and sisters, Mary Bauer-Petra and Jeanine Traxel.

Joel was a 30-year employee in the Maple Dale-Indian Hill School District and made a tremendous impact on hundreds of students, families, teachers, and staff members.

A lifelong outdoorsman, Joel was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time in the woods with close family and friends.

A visitation for Joel will be held Wednesday, November 9 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 8661 North 76th Place, Milwaukee, WI 53223, immediately followed by mass and interment.
