Johanne Mary Schubert passed away at the age of 89 years on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Johanne was born in Ft Edward, New York in 1933 to Albert and Anna May St Pierre. When Jo was very young, the family moved to Appleton, Wisconsin where she lived most of her life. As a young girl, Johanne loved to ice skate and won many speed skating medals. After high school, Johanne took a job at the Wisconsin Telephone Company where she met the love of her life, Donald Schubert. Don and Jo were married in 1954 and had 3 boys, Glen, John and James. Jo loved attending flea markets and rummage sales hunting for bargains and ‘good’ antiques. After her boys were grown, she turned her passion into a business, and she was the proprietor of About Time Antiques in Menasha for many years. Jo and Don would take trips and always come home with some new treasures. Jo liked to garden, she excelled at playing bridge, Uno and dominoes, and she loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Johanne is survived by her sons Glen (Carla), John (Liz), James (Pilar), grandchildren Elizabeth (John) Dzwoncyzk, Michael, Sara, and Dan (Kersten) Schubert, Janice (Rhubert) Dela Cruz, Catherine (Alex) Garibay, Edwin (Lanie) Llanillo and great grandchildren Aurora, Julia, John, James, Sandra, Axel and Khate. Also want to acknowledge Denise Steckel who was like an adopted daughter to Johanne. Jo was also blessed to have many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and brothers Roland St Pierre and Robert (Alice) St Pierre.
Donations in Johanne’s honor can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
