John A. Rahm has gone fishing in the great blue sky. Born October 17th, 1949, died Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 at the age of 71. Loving father to Michael (Kristi) and Jennifer. Proud grandfather to Cole and Hazelle. Dear brother to Jim (Cindy) Rahm. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Edith, and sister, Susan. Also survived by many lifelong friends.
Grandpa loved spending time with his grandchildren. You could always find John down the street at his son’s house. Often stopping by with surprises for the grandkids, playing Go Fish, filling water balloons, and bringing over hot ham and rolls on Sunday.
Dad’s motto was, “dessert first!” He was always first in line for a piece of cake or pie, and he loved taking everyone out to Kopp’s for custard. He loved fishing, cooking, grilling out, gardening, and playing 500 Rummy with his family. Dad was meticulous about his appearance, he always wanted to look his best.
John was an automobile enthusiast, he loved working on cars, going to auctions, and driving. Dad loved hunting for bargains at Estate sales, garage sales, auctions, and store closings; he was always looking for a deal. He didn’t mind getting his hands dirty and pitching in to help family and friends move, renovate a house, fix a car, or build a garage. John loved watching the Packers, traveling Wisconsin for the best horseradish, cheese, and sausage, and watching Jon Rahm play golf on the weekend with his daughter. He enjoyed dining out and buying dinner for family and friends.
John dreamed about buying a cabin up North for fishing in the summer and wintering down South wherever the weather was warm.
