John Hugh Knox Sr. was born June 27, 1936 to the union of Anna Gray and Toussaint Knox in Milwaukee, WI. John received his formal education in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Lincoln High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army and honorably discharged as a First Sargent after 30 years of service. After his retirement from the United States Army he worked for the United States Postal Service as a supervisor for 12 years and then retired.
He is pre-deceased in death by his loving wife Ko Suk (Yoon) Knox, and his parents, his grandmother Carrie Turner, and his aunt Alice Honeycutt.
John leaves to mourn his son, John Hugh Knox Jr., his two grandsons, Jared Knox and Jordan Knox, sister Betty Banks (Adell), brother Gene L. Knox (Carol), Ko-Soon Yu (sister in-law), Hyon-Su Yu (brother in-law), Ko-Sung Yoon (brother in-law), Kyong-Chu Cho (niece), Joe Yu (nephew), Joseph Yoon (nephew), Joan Yoon (niece), Esther Shin (sister in-law), Dong-Chul Shin (brother in-law), In-Sook Yoon, (sister in-law), Alex Shin (nephew), Joyce Yoon (niece), Joe Yoon (nephew), Ko-Hee Yi (sister in-law), Hee-Yung Yi (niece), Hee-Won Yi (niece), Joseph Yi (nephew), Kyong-Hwa Kim (niece), and a host of other relatives and friends.
On Saturday September 12, 2020, visitation and funeral service will be provided for immediate family members in the Milwaukee area. Due to current circumstances the family requests that only participants that have been formally invited attend the visitation and funeral service in person. In lieu of attending in person, a private live stream of the visitation and funeral service is being provided. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM and funeral service will be held afterwards.
