Maureen.....I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about John. I worked with him at HNTB for many years and talked with him at a meeting a couple years ago after both of us had left that firm. We talked about going pheasant hunting again, as he and one of your sons joined me on a hunt probably ten years ago. I ego all the messages from your friends and loved ones as I share their feelings, admiration and respect for John. What a great person he was in all respects.

I worked with John at Giles for many years. His personal character and professional manner led through example and elevated all around him. His honesty and often understated sense of humor revealed a genuine humanity. My heart felt condolences for your loss. I am better for having known him and am grateful for having had that chance.

Maureen and boys, we watched each others' families grow up across the street from each other for almost 20 years. In that time John showed me what a father was. He loved you and the boys more than anything. Like a good Catholic he loved his neighbor as himself. He was always there to offer help, assistance, or advice. We are all far better to have had him touch our lives. Thank you for that gift! Boys your father was a great man and that I know you already know. Remember the good times you shared because as a father I know he enjoyed the time he had with all of you probably more. He was so proud of you Patrick, Thomas, and James. And James, thank you for getting dad's side of the garage cleared out. The Kon Family will continue to pray for your family as God will surely accept John into his kingdom. "...and He will raise him up on eagle's wings."
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Maureen & Sons, Are hearts are with your family! It was so much fun, everytime we were with your family. John's calm presence always was welcome, when this group carried on! Remember always, the wonderful man your husband and father. God will keep John in his loving arms. Love you, Kenny & PAV

Maureen, I'm so sorry to have heard this news. Although we have been neighbors for a short time, I enjoyed hearing the stories about John's passions with the boats and cars. Your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Maureen, so sorry to learn of John's passing. Our prayers are with you and your family. The prayer of St. Francis of Assisi ends with "... and by death we are born to eternal life." May the grace of God be with you and John's loved ones.
