Brott, Joy Ann, 88, of Hutchinson, MN was born to eternal life on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021.
She was a loving mother of Joan (Gary) Plotz, John (Lisa) Brott and Jeff (Ruth) Brott.
Proud Grandmother of Jalean (Jessie) Petricka, Gary (Betsy) Plotz Jr., Jordan (Carmen) Plotz, Jared (Brooke) Plotz, Evan (Gina) Plotz, Jonathan (Sharista) Plotz, Kathryn (Douglas) Lebda, Sarah (Frederic) Payen, Eric Brott, Theresa (Josiah) Royse, Step-Grandmother to Michael, Melissa, Rebecca, David, April and Jonathan. Adoring Great-Grandmother of 25. Dear sister of Ronald (Althea) Bartelt and Robert Bartelt. Joy was also loved by many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Perry John Brott, her parents Alvin and Alice Bartelt, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Glenn Gilbert, sister-in-law Diane Bartelt, step-son Perry Brott Jr., granddaughter Janelle Plotz, great-granddaughter Bethany Royse and other dear family members.
Joy was born into a faith-filled loving family in Milwaukee, WI. She was a good student and studied piano. She graduated from Custer High School, was happily married for nearly 57 years and was a loving, devoted mother of 3. Joy Ann retired from Prudential Insurance Company in Milwaukee, as Associate Office Manager, with 20 years of service. Perry and Joy worked hard to provide for their children and their endeavors and encouraged their pursuit of college educations.
She was a faithful, lifelong church member, choir member and talented soloist with over 40 years at Calvary Memorial United Church of Christ in Wauwatosa where she and Perry were examples of service and shared their love, knowledge and joy of God to their children. Joy Ann enjoyed singing, reading, growing flowers and her family was the joy of her life. She enjoyed cooking and was a generous host with her loving hospitality for many occasions. Joy Ann’s love of music and playing piano served as inspiration for her children’s and grandchildren’s interest and study of music. She and Perry enjoyed attending musicals, playing cards with friends, bowling, traveling throughout the U.S. and spending time at Jellystone Campground with family. In their senior years they moved to West Bend and after Perry died in 2008, Joy Ann moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota, near her daughter, and spent winters split between her son Jeffrey and daughter Joan’s loving homes near Sarasota, Florida.
Joy Ann was deeply devoted to her family with her loving and helpful presence and made each of us feel valued. She was a strong prayer warrior for each of us. Joy Ann always made sure all of her big family received cards and gifts! Her faith, kindness, grateful heart, thoughtfulness, encouragement, sweet nature and goodness were a gift to all of us and will be greatly missed by those blessed to have been loved by her. We look forward to a blessed reunion in heaven with her and with our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Your prayers and support are appreciated. We are grateful for the recent loving care provided by Harmony River Nursing Home in Hutchinson, MN.
