Karen Alice Hofbauer

Hofbauer, Karen Alice (nee Konieczka) On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, passed away after a courageous battle against cancer. Karen is survived by her loving husband and best friend, James, and their dog, Drake, and her dear brother, Danny. She is also survived by her 2 sisters-in-law, whom she considered to be the sisters she never had, Char Winters (John) and Mary Hofbauer (John). Karen is further survived by her mother-in-law, Annegretel Hofbauer (Charles), and other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Daniel S., and mother, Grace (nee Hollenstein).

Karen worked at the Pharmacy Shoppe in Milwaukee for almost 30 years. She was working there when Jim bought the pharmacy in 1987, and as she liked to tell people, she came with the fixtures. They were married in October of 1999.

Karen wanted to thank several special friends who were there for her and gave her encouragement. Thank you Patty, Jeanine, Lynette, Lola, Vicky, and Nancy, and a special thanks to Pastor Steve and his wife, Linda.

Private burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Horizon’s Lawliss Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
