Kathleen A. Radmer (nee Niebuhr), age 72, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
Kathleen is survived by her beloved children, Chris (Bill) Wheeler, Melissa (Mark) Vukovich, Fred Radmer, Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Alex and Joseph Wheeler, and Kira and Madeline Vukovich; her siblings, Dennis, Alfred (Joan), James (Kim), Melody, and Mike; and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick A. Radmer; her parents; her siblings, Russell, Gayhardt, Patricia Olson and Mark.
Kathy was a gentle, kind, warm-hearted, selfless soul. The second of 10 children, she became a devoted caregiver at an early age, assisting her mother with childcare responsibilities for her youngest siblings. As a mother, she proudly and meticulously nurtured her own three children, providing a loving home and creating long lasting holiday traditions, including her love of Christmas, and baking her famous Christmas cookies. Kathy’s homemade spaghetti and lasagna were also fan favorites.
Kathy enjoyed doing crafts and being active outdoors. She was a Girl Scout leader and Activity Director for elderly group homes and was fabulous at planning activities for people of all ages. She enjoyed many trips to the zoo, hikes in the woods and other adventures with her grandchildren. She was their favorite fan at all their school events.
Kathy enjoyed fishing and camping trips throughout the years with her family and duck hunting with her husband and brothers. In fact, she was often known to be the best shot!
Kathy was an animal “whisperer,” attracting many animals. Most notably, was her love of dogs. When at home, the family dogs would often follow her wherever she went in the house, like a “Pied Piper of dogs”.
Kathy appreciated all the sunny days and rarely let the clouds get her down. She had a quiet resolve and strong will. She faced adversity with a strong sense of faith and resiliency. Perhaps we can all draw strength from her when storms pass through.
She will be greatly missed by all who love her.
Visitation will be at 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, until time of service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 West Greenfield Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin.
