I absolutely loved Kathy. We are first cousins but hardly ever interacted in our youth. We saw her as an adult just a few times when she and Tony were a new family at the top of Piggssville and my new family lived on 39th and Galena. And then after a lot of years just seeing her at family events, we matched up with her and Mary and Dennis in Puerto Rico. We spent weeks together and finally had a lot of time to actually get to know each other in a real way. And I love the real Kathy who was so smart, kind, sassy, and beautiful and practical and had more common sense than most people I know. I will miss her a lot and hope the best for her family and loved ones. What a grand matriarch! Jim Torres (and Sue too.)

Always my sister forever my friend! Dennis and I will always remember our time spent together in Puerto Rico. We were always on some kind of “Adventure” touring the island, never knowing where we would end up! You will be missed. Love you.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Kathy Gomez Jr left a message on January 11, 2022:
Kathy, Aka MomG, always made me feel loved and included. I have so much I could share but I will focus on the great memories with her in Puerto Rico where our bond grew and strengthened every year! Kathy loved Puerto Rico. I had the pleasure of taking many trips to the island to stay with her. She was fearless driving the narrow, twisting roads so we could explore yet another corner of island. She loved the pool, water aerobics, playing Domino’s and socializing. A visit to Louie and Amelia’s for a special homemade Puerto Rican meal was usually saved for the time Greg and I would visit because she knew how much we loved the food. She introduced me to her favorite beverage the pina colada after along walk on the beach or playing bingo. We were usually with Aunt Mary and Uncle Dennis when we stayed and one evening it was decided I would be Kathy Gomez Jr and she would be Kathy Gomez Sr so we wouldn’t confuse people at Palmas, the place we stayed every year! I will miss “Kathy Gomez Sr.” I am a better person because she was in my life. She was my Mom never my mother in law but Mom.
