On November 25th, 2020 Kevin William Barnard, a loving son, husband and father of two passed away at the age of 59 after conquering a form of brain cancer called glioblastoma, a diagnosis he never allowed to control his life.
Kevin was born on September 24, 1961 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to William and Jeanne Barnard where he spent most of his childhood on the family farm. He received his Engineering degree from University of Wisconsin-Stout in May of 1985 then established a long successful career running his own fabrication design business (Hunter’s Fabrication and Design, LLC) for the past 15 years.
On August 20th, 1988 he married his longtime first wife Susan Winkler (Barnard) and over the course of 25+ years together they raised two children, Ryan and Amanda. Kevin’s dedication to his children was apparent through his involvement with all their activities and coaching of sports.
On the 25th of May in 2019 he united in marriage to Dr. Andrea Cyr. Together, they shared many new experiences through traveling and cycling. She lovingly provided care for Kevin during his heroic fight through his final weeks.
The various paths Kevin took throughout his life was emanated by his never-ending creativity. His talented skills as an engineer and keen ability to design was proven by the start of his own company in 2008. Through the dedication to his work, he forged many lifelong relationships, creating further members of Kevin’s extended family which embodied how he lived. He was known to share, teach, laugh and love fully with all those he knew, which made him such a memorable person. Kevin was known as an inspiration to live life to its fullest by all those who knew him.
Kevin’s love for the farm in Door County also fueled his passion for creating and growing. His favorite experiences growing up was spent at the family farm tending to the fruit trees during the summers. Time spent with family was always paramount to Kevin, which often involved his passion for hunting over the years, forging unforgettable memories.
Kevin is survived by his mother and father, William and Jeanne Barnard, his wife Dr. Andrea Cyr, his two children Ryan and Amanda, his siblings; Cheryl (Tom) Berka, Jim (Jeanne) Barnard, Sarah (Doug) Drzycimski and many Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and countless close friends that defined his life. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and faithful companions; Ike a 3-year-old yellow lab and Patton a 6-year-old beagle.
A gathering will be held on Sunday, December 6th, 2020 from 12:00 PM – 2:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. A Memorial Service at 3:00 PM will follow, and family and friends are welcome to attend as well as view on the live streaming.
