Passed away unexpectedly at his home, Sunday October 15, 2017. Larry was born June 12, 1934 in Washburn WI. He graduated from Washburn High School in 1952. He served in the US Navy and graduated from UW Oshkosh. He worked as an insurance representative for several companies and retired from United Insurance Company in 1996.
Beloved and supportive husband to Marjorie (Nee Nelson). Loving father to Christopher (Gloria) Larson; Karen Larson; Jane (Kevin) Schmitt and Erika (Frank) Hernet. Stepfather to Larry Wells. Very proud grandfather to Benjamin, Jared, Emily, Xavier, Anna Shawn and Jessica.
He is also survived by his brother, Daniel (Sally) Larson, Aunts Bernice Klemmer and Tharis Bartness, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law who will miss him dearly. His sense of humor and willingness to go with the flow endeared him to his 9 sisters and brother-in law for more than 30 years and they also feel his loss.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Joyce (Bartness) Larson, brothers Gregory and Mark and sister Karin.
He loved the outdoors and spent many memorable summers camping with his children and relatives. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and always looked forward to deer season in Bayfield county every year until his health sidelined him.
Larry was a enthusiastic member of West Allis Charities from 1978 until the organization ceased operation in 2007, He served 2 terms as President, served on the Executive Board for several terms and was Chairman of their fund raiser, West Allis Western Days for many years.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, Friday October 20th 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Service to follow at 7:00 PM. Additional visitation Saturday October 21st 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at All Saints Cathedral, 818 East Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Funeral Service at 2:00 PM.
