Passed away at home, age 83, after a courageous 22 months coping with complications from surgery. László is survived by his wife, Susan Wistar Masland and daughters Vita Levar (George) and Edit Földi (Pista, also by his step-children Gregory Tatham (Inna), Anne Mathie (John), Rebecca Tatham, and Holly Tatham. He also is survived by his sister, Milkó Nandorné, in Hungary. He was a beloved grandfather of five in the U.S. and two in Hungary, and a great-grandfather of five also in Hungary. His many friends and family will miss him beyond measure.
After careers as an architect and engineer, László retired as Director of Engineering at Miller Brewing Company where he worked for 20 years. For many decades he took pleasure in flying and in being up north at the cabin he built where he hiked in his woods, created a lake, and hunted each fall. He loved fishing up north as well as at a lake cottage he redesigned and enlarged closer to his home in Bayside. His retirement years were spent initially in travel abroad and in design and construction projects up north and at the lake property. In more recent years he enjoyed being around family at home.
The family tribute to László will be private as he wished. He will be buried in Hungary.
