Lea graduated from North Division High School in 1945 and went on to work full time for Wisconsin Bell Telephone where she met her husband, Jack Morris in 1947 and marrying in May of 1948. Lea worked for Wisconsin Bell until the birth of her first child. Lea and Jack enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. Their marriage brought the births of their two children, John and Penny. Lea and Jack remained living in southeastern Wisconsin throughout their lifetimes, raising their family in New Berlin and later living in Dousman, briefly in Watertown and finally in Oconomowoc. Lea was devoted to her husband, Jack and took pride in raising her family. She loved to bake bread weekly for her family and continued to bake until age 80. She enjoyed sewing, counted cross stitch, knitting for her church (First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa), and taking care of her home.
