Leotha Stanley was born to Lum & Laura (nee: Peoples) Stanley in Sprotts, Alabama on July 26th. Leotha was joined in holy matrimony to Elzola Ford on October 19th, 1952. From that union 3 children were born, Jeranice (Seattle, WA), Lora (Lori-Santa Rosa, CA) and Leotha (Lee-Madison, WI).
After his high school graduation, Leotha set out with a favorite cousin to find employment in the north. After 1 week he secured employment at Nordberg Manufacturing Co, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A few months later his family came to reside in Milwaukee. Before Elzola and Jerry joined him, Leotha became a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was excited to join the Usher Board, the Male Chorus, the Transportation Ministry and spent over 25 years serving on the Deacon Board. He left a legacy of service. Deacon Stanley was a skilled auto mechanic and in addition to his full-time job, he worked part time at Sears & Roebucks.
While attending church banquets, wedding receptions, family reunions and other gatherings, Leotha was always gifting everyone with his patented inspriational stories. Both Leotha and Elzola enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
Deacon Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, Minnie, Iola, Lila, Mary Anna, 1 brother Lum Jr, and 2 half-sisters, Lottie and Lola.
Deacon Stanley was a loving, faithful, devoted husband, father, and brother. He made his transition on Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 at the age of eighty-four. He leaves to cherish is memories his wife Elzola, 3 children, Jeranice (Bob Allen) Stanley, Lora Sall, Leotha Aubrey (Tamera) Stanley, grandchildren: Gregory, Letrice, Leotha III, Derek, Nadirah Adeye’, Victor Makai, Shanika, Jasmin, Rashada, Risha, special acknowledgement of Eugene Holman and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a number of other relatives and friends.
