Leslie “Les” Joseph Wilson was called home to his Savior Jesus Christ after a brief illness on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the age of 78.
Les was hard-working, passionate, and believed “any job worth doing is worth doing well.” Les was born to Reginald and Angeline Wilson on November 22, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI, graduating from Rufus King High School (1961) and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1966). Les also served his country in the United States Army Reserve.
Les is survived by and truly cherished his wife Virginia “Jinny” (nee Pede) of 50 years, daughter Julie Church (Ryan) of Seattle, WA, son Mark Wilson (Amy) of Greer, SC, his twin brother Lee (Vicki) of Jasper, GA, his sister, Mary Krohn of Reading, PA, six grandsons, Carson, Colin and Wallace Church, Lane, Cole and Graham Wilson. Les is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
His professional career began at Price Waterhouse and Co. in Milwaukee. During his career, he attained his CPA credentials, enabling him to work as a CFO and retire as a proud owner of Pereles Brothers in August 2013. Les began enjoying golf at a young age with his father and twin brother, eventually joining Oconomowoc Golf Club, where he was a member since 1975. Passing along his love of golf to his family and many others was truly his passion. He cheered hard for the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks, spending his leisure time tinkering with do-it-yourself home improvement projects and riding/fixing his John Deere tractor while maintaining their beautiful yard.
His faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was fostered for years, finishing his life as a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pewaukee, where a memorial service will be held (W240N3103 Pewaukee Road, Pewaukee, Wisconsin). A visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2022. All are invited to gather for dinner at 6:00 PM in Christ Lutheran’s Grand Hall, serving some of Les’s favorite food and drink.
“Les will be missed.”
