Lionel was born in Carrier Mills, Illinois to Buddy Rouse and Wanda Rouse-Williams. Their union of love afforded them five children. Lionel was the youngest. At the age of six he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his family. Lionel was raised in the church and has a close personal relationship with the Lord.

On March 15, 2003, Lionel wedded Catherin Smith. Together they raised six children: Shaquita, Elton, and Lena. They also opened their hearts and home to three more children Jarvae, Willie, and Marchello.

Lionel always lovingly opened his home and took pride in keeping all the babies in the family till they were ready for school. Which included his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well. He was always a great support for family and friends. His favorite place was to be on a fishing band, he loved to go fishing with close friends and family. Lionel showed his love through his food. He loved to cook and feed his family and friends. He loved to have cookouts that ranged from huge barbecues to large fish fry’s. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends. He loved have all of his grandchildren around. He loved to watch cooking shows and try out new recipes. He was also a big jokester and love to have family and friends around at all times.

Lionel Rouse, Resident of Milwaukee Wisconsin, formerly of Carrier Mills, Illinois, passed on to glory on June 21, 2021 at the age of 57 years. He was preceded by his loving parents Buddy and Wanda Rouse, grandparents, older brother Kendall Rouse, family, cousins, and friends.

Lionel will be greatly missed by: His loving wife Catherine Smith-Rouse. His children Shaquita (DeMarcus) Mitchell, Elton Smith, Lena Thompson (Antione), Jarvae, Willie, and Marchello Smith. His grandchildren Destiny, De’Marcus Jr., Zabrina, Madyson, Taylor, Elton Jr., Zyon & Zuri. His sisters and brother Mary (William) McNeil, Torrancy (Wendy) Rouse, and Joy Rouse. His in-laws, Arthur, Tyiesha, Isaiah, Willie, Cora. His nieces and nephews Kamara, Marc, Alisha, Latisha, Destine, Camerin, Akreisha, and Kendra. His great nieces and nephews Martrell, Marllisha, Destiny, Aysia, Deshawn, Alaina, Za’Niyah Zion, Elijah, Noah, and Addyson. His great-great nephew Martrell Jr. and a host of family and friends.

Visitation at the Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive in Milwaukee on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 12:45 PM. Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment at Graceland Cemetery on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 12:00 PM.
