Susan Hawn Valasek Daughter of Trudy left a message on January 13, 2017:
So sorry to hear of the passing of my dear Aunt. She was a very special person to my whole family. Will always remember her kind eyes. My fondest memory of her was watching my mom (sister) and her giggling like two little girls while they were baking and cooking for the whole gang. As I have gotten older and wiser I have realized how hard it must have been for them to be so far apart from each other. I find comfort knowing they are together again. Rest In Peace Aunt Lorraine Love Susie

I remember meeting my great aunt Lorraine maybe only once or twice. Regardless, I remember her being very sweet. May she rest in peace with my grandpa Joe and all the others from the Kurylo family who went before her. -Kevin Moenkhaus, eldest grandson of Lorraine's brother Joe Kurylo

I am saddened that the Hawn family has lost a wonderful Aunt. She definitely earned angel wings when we stopped for our annual visit on our way to Uncle Eds Christmas tree farm. So many mouths to feed always serving us with a smile and baking unbelievable pastries. You will be missed. The 9th child of Gertrude (Kurylo) and Harry Hawn

I have very vivid and fond memories of our summer trips to Wisconsin . Our annual stop in Milwaukee meant we were getting Elephant ears from Auntie Lorraines house. Along with a lot of other good food. She was a great baker. Been years since I've seen her and all the cousins but always will have the great memories. Keeping your entire family in my prayers . All my love Phil- youngest son of Gertrude..
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
