Born on November 18, 1921, left his life Sun. February 5, 2012 to join Marie, his beloved wife of 62 years, in heaven. He is survived by his brother, Harold, his sister Mary Ellen Robertson, and his five proud children- John (Kathy), Jeanne (Ken) Larvik, Louis (Carol), Richard and Tom (Ruth). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren Aaron (Wendy) Larvick, Dana (Rick) Bennett, Danielle Jambois, Marie (Matt) Sprader, Kelly (Dustin) Greisen, Louie, Charlie and Maggie Jambois and 5 great-grandchildren, Sophie and Henry Larvick, Jackson and Addison Greison and George Bennett. Forever father-in-law to Betty Jambois. Louie was well known for his great sense of humor, which he retained to the last day of his life. He was a great athlete from his baseball days in LaCrosse to his adventures on the golf courses throughout Wisconsin. Many years after retirement, he was still energized by his business activities and the friendships that were kindled in a long, exciting career with Frito Lay. He often enthusiastically regaled friends and family with stories from those days. He was intensely proud and respectful of those who came before him- his oral history lessons about the people and events of his youth on the farm near Genoa, Wisconsin are a priceless gift to all of us. The activities of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great source of excitement and joy, and he was on top of all of our journeys through life to the point that when we wanted to know what was going on in the family, we simply called dad. He was simultaneously salty and devout. He attended Catholic mass until he was unable to travel and encouraged his children to continue in the faith. He was extraordinarily honest and had an iron-clad grip on the difference between right and wrong. He shared his thoughts on the issue regularly, whether we wanted to hear it or not. He was very good with a dollar, was fair with people, and demanded that they be fair with him. He served as a great role model in life and his presence and influence will be felt well into the future. Special thank you to Olga, Kelly and Heartland Hospice for making his last days here better.Visitation at the Funeral Home Thursday, February 9, 3:30-6:30 PM.
