Passed peacefully after a difficult journey home on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the age of 89. Margaret was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended St. Stephens Grade School and Messmer High School. She was the second oldest of nine children. Margaret is survived by two daughters Karen Ann Calhoun and Pamela Sue Schuster; three grandchildren Jim Deuchars, DeAnna Lyn O'Connell and Ethan Bucane; two great-grandchildren Keely Winter O' Connell and Ayla Summer O'Connell; two sons-in-law Robert Calhoun and Scott Bucane; three brothers Rudolph (Delores), Joseph (Mary), and William Zemanovic, as well as several nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by husband Francis G. Chovanec, daughter Cynthia L. Bucane, five siblings Wilma Enea, Stanley Lance, Julie Wyant, Robert and Anthony(Darlene) Zemanovic. Memorial Gathering at HOLY APOSTLES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 16000 W. National Ave., New Berlin, Tuesday, June 12, 9:30-11AM. Memorial Mass 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at the Church Cemetery. Margaret was most proud of her lifetime charter membership in the New Berlin Lioness Club. She also was a member of Holy Apostle's Catholic Church for sixty years. Before retirement, she worked as a cashier and bookkeeper. Margaret loved to experiment and work with different craft media including counted cross stitchery, quilting, basket weaving, embroidery, and smocking. She was an excellent seamstress and avid gardener. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. We wish to express our thanks to the staff of Seasons Hospice for their loving care of our mother.
