Margaret “Marge” Delores Shadd passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2022, at the age of 98. Marge was being visited and comforted by family members and loving friends at Sacred Heart at Monastery Lake in Franklin, Wisconsin. She reunited with her beloved husband of 35 years, Daniel “Dan” Shadd.
Marge is survived by her devoted granddaughter, Lynne Pelzek, adoring great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rath and cherished nieces Darlene Hagopian and Marilyn Bernzott. She was also dearly loved by many special friends including her best friend Annie Schimmer, Elizabeth and Al Hovey, Jim Vukos, Sister Ann, Marjorie Shadd, Pat Dahl, Judy Fier and the lovely residents at Sacred Heart. Marge was preceded in death by her husband Dan, daughter Sharon Pelzek, brother Adolph Fuchs Jr. and grandson Michael Diefenbach.
Marge Shadd was born on September 27, 1924, in West Allis. Her parents Josephine and Adolph Fuchs were Austrian immigrants. Marge was proud of her Austrian heritage and visited the country with her husband, Dan. They met at a dance hall while polka dancing, one of Marge’s favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed Scrabble, taking walks through Boerner Botanical Garden and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to Rose Fabian and Annie Schimmer for their nurturing and meticulous care of Marge during her last months. Special thanks also to the caring Aurora Healthcare Hospice at Home team, Cindy, Jill and Elena.
Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever. Until we meet again.
