Marilyn L. Richards (nee Roberts) is now at peace. She passed on September 2, 2018, at age 87. Beloved wife of Jack for 61 years. Loving mother of Brian (Laura Davis) Richards and Janet (Mike) Durham. Proud grandmother of Amanda and Christopher Durham. Treasured cousin of Kathleen (Keith) Rathjen and Myrna Sue Cooney. Dear sister-in-law of Robert (Jan) Richards and Doris Roberts. Cherished aunt of Duane Eilers, Joan Lawrence, Larry Roberts, Kathy Peal, and Steve Richards. Preceded in death by her siblings Paul Roberts and Joyce (Raymond) Eilers. Also loved by many other family and friends.
Marilyn was born and raised in Williamsburg, Iowa, and attended Coe College, and then earned her Masters in Education at University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. While teaching high school in Dearborn, she met her husband Jack. They raised their family there and were longtime members of First Presbyterian Church. She was active in WADOS (now called Friends of the Dearborn Symphony), AAUW, and PTA. She and Jack retired to Brookfield, Wisconsin, in 1997 to be closer to their grandchildren. Marilyn and Jack enjoyed traveling together. She loved reading, music, and most of all — spending time with family.
