Marjorie Anna Togstad

Marjorie (Marge) Anna Peters Togstad was born to her parents, Gustave C. and Lilly H. Peters on March 16, 1924.  She had an identical twin sister, Marion L. Peters Shelstad, and they had an older brother, Donald (Pete) Peters.

On August 3, 1946, Marge married Carleton (Cop) H. Togstad.  Their romance lasted 62 years prior to Cop’s death in 2008.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, and her brother.

Marge is survived by her three children, Karen Togstad (Bart) Francour, Kristen Togstad (Phillip) Bale, and Kent R. Togstad.  Surviving are 10 grandchildren: Erik B. (Shelley) Francour, Brittany Francour (Robert) Sargent, Kirstin Francour (Chris) Hall, Kiara Francour (David) Williams, Taylor Bale (David) Kuczynski, Lindsey Bale (Wes) Howard, Megan Bale (Mark) Nelson, Garnett W. (Laura) Bale, Erika J. Togstad, and Meredith Togstad (Arthur) Presti.  Also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren.

With a welcoming smile and a winsome personality, Marge enjoyed life surrounded by a large, loving family and a litany of friends.  Marge always displayed solid Midwestern values, including hard work, citizenship, faith and family.  As graduates of University of Wisconsin – Madison, Marge and Cop loved their Badgers.  May the spirits of Marge and Cop be joined for eternity.
