Found eternal peace on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at the age of 60. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Klemm. Beloved Dad to Austin and Sarah Klemm. Loving son of Anton and Diane Klemm. Loving son-in-law of the late Heinz and Ruth Rehfeld. Beloved brother to Mike Klemm, Rick (Mary) Klemm, and brother-in-law, David (Beverly) Rehfeld. Preceded in death by grandparents Peter and Rosina Klemm and Gerald and Anita Schultz. Further survived by aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews, and many dear friends.
Mark was born on December 17, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His family moved to Menomonee Falls in 1969, where Mark spent his childhood years through early adulthood. In 1979, he graduated from Sussex Hamilton High School. That same year, Mark started his tool & die apprenticeship at Micrometric Machine Corporation, where he worked for 40 years, until his retirement 2 years ago. Mark was a master craftsman and he was always very proud of his work. He was a handyman and mechanically gifted, and could repair anything around the house or on his cars.
Mark was an avid sports fan. He loved playing and watching all sports, but soccer held a special place in his heart. Mark had deep roots in the Bavarian Soccer Club. Mark’s whole family played for the Bavarians for many years. They also coached Bavarian youth teams. In 1980, Mark had 10-year old David Rehfeld on his team. Coach Mark took an interest in David’s sister, Linda. Mark and Linda soon started dating, and on August 6, 1983, they married. Mark’s Bavarian Soccer Club connection came full circle when his son, Austin, played for the Bavarians. Mark forged many special friendships at the Bavarian Soccer Club, both as a youth player and coach, and later in life as a soccer dad.
Mark and Linda had their first child, Austin, in January, 1994, and their family was complete when daughter, Sarah was born in April, 1998. Mark loved his kids to the moon and back. He was so proud when both Austin and Sarah graduated from college, and when Austin joined the U.S. Air Force. Both kids inherited Mark’s strong work ethic. He always told them if they worked hard and followed their dreams, there is nothing they wouldn’t be able to achieve.
Mark loved the outdoors. He was passionate about deer hunting – both bow and gun. He enjoyed pheasant and turkey hunting. His favorite part about hunting was the camaraderie and fellowship with those he hunted with. Mark was also a fisherman and avid boater. He always enjoyed being on the lake with family and friends.
Mark and Linda had a true love story. Mark adored his wife, and even after 37 years of marriage, they always made time for date nights. They enjoyed many family vacations, both here and abroad, many of which were soccer-related. Their favorite destination was Siesta Key, Florida, where Mark and Linda planned to retire. They lived in Pewaukee for most of their married life.
Mark will be dearly missed by his wife and children, parents, brothers, and many other family and friends. His was a life taken too soon, but one that will always be remembered.
