Mary (nee Bliss) Nowak
Started singing in Heaven on May 21, 2021, at age 65 after complications from same day surgery. She was surrounded by her loved ones, truly thankful for her life, and faithfully at peace. The one true love of husband Paul for 44 years. Cherished mother of Matthew (Tennille) and Nicole (Aaron) Tripps. Adoring Grandmother of Ryland, Dylan, Gracie, McKenna, Adlee, and Elijah. Proud Sister of Connie, Cindy, Beth, and Carolynn.
Gathering at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12700 West Howard Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Memorial Mass following from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Please make memorial contributions to Smile Train or Doctors without Borders in Mary’s name.
Born to Harold and Betty (Parker) Bliss, Mary grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin. She attended UW Whitewater for both her undergraduate degree and Master’s degree in School Counseling. She worked as part of the West Allis Central High School Student Counseling Department for 20+ years. Prior to her true counseling calling, Mary was a Business Education teacher at Greenfield and Messmer High Schools.
Mary’s light shined on everyone around her, including the ICU staff at St. Luke’s during her almost 9 weeks stay. She lit up any room she entered with her laughter, her commentary, and most importantly her kindness. Mary cared deeply for her family – especially her grandchildren. Her loving nature will continue to guide them and many others for the rest of their lives. She will be deeply missed.
HER LIGHT CONTINUES TO SHINE
