Max entered eternal life on December 13, 2018. He was born March 24, 1926 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Leonard and Velva (nee Burgess) Broyles. Max received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Education from Ball State University, Muncie, IN. He taught high school business education for two years and then entered the automotive aftermarket field as a salesman. He worked for various automotive companies for forty years.
Max married Joanne Coil November 27, 1957. They had two daughters. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Marjorie Moore, and his daughter Judith Ann, who died at age 6.
Max was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II and served in the army of occupation in Japan. He was a member of the Daleville, IN Masonic Lodge and a past president of the Harvey, IN Kiwanis Club. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts.
Max has been an active member of the Presbyterian Church for many years. He served as an Elder at the Church of the Cross in Hoffman Estates and also Faith United Presbyterian Tinley Park, IL. Max and Joanne joined Brookfield Presbyterian in 1999.
He enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and playing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Joanne, he is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Daniel) Sparacino; his grandchildren, Stephen Sparacino and Julia Sparacino; his nephew James (Mary) Savage, of Lansing, MI, niece Deborah Vaughn of Chesterfield, IN, and several grandnephews and nieces.
