Michael W. Lueck, 74, of Franklin, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was surrounded with love and support from family. We find comfort knowing that he is at peace and with Mathew. It was his dad’s birthday on June 11th so we’re sure they were singing and celebrating in Heaven together.
Mike was the beloved husband of nearly 51 years to Lynn (nee Jonokuchi). Loving father of Jessica (Nick Lavora). Caring brother of Jim (Kris), Jayne (Scott) Rozanski, Nancy (Danny) Nessman, Kaye (Paul) Kruschke, and Corky Berghoefer. He is also survived by wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his cherished son, Mathew, his parents Walter and Loretta, his dear sister/cousin Linda Berghoefer and niece Kelly Jo Lueck.
Mike was enthusiastic about life. He loved nature and being outdoors. No cable TV for Mike. He was a staunch supporter of PBS. He’d say, “Lynn, where else would I be able to see all of these wonders of the world and great wildlife programs?” He had so many crazy fishing and deer hunting adventures with friends and family. His motto was, “What happens up North, stays up North!” We did hear about some “passing gas” contests! Unfortunately, in the last year, his ailing hip and hip surgery slowed him down quite a bit. Lately, we would find him and Emi in his recliner with his binoculars and bird book watching the bird feeders and bird bath to get his nature “fix”.
Above all, Mike enjoyed being there for his family and friends. He was selfless, generous and tender-hearted. We would catch him quietly wiping away tears when seeing sad stories in the news. Mike treated everyone with kindness, welcoming the new families to our neighborhood. He was always there to lend a hand, give advice and pitch in when needed. He could fix anything, even if he had to take it completely apart. Mike had every tool available! He could even make a custom part in his workshop to do the job! He enjoyed the challenge.
Summers are so short and busy in Wisconsin, so if you are unable to attend the service, please know that Mike would be the first to understand. Be with your family. Soak up the sun and warm weather. Celebrate Mike by keeping him in your thoughts that day. Have a cold one on him.
