Surrounded by family and friends fell asleep unto the Lord on March 15, 2021. Sophia Doucas (nee Crosses) of New Berlin, WI, was the beloved wife of the late Paul Doucas (founder of Doucas Oldsmobile, Inc.). Dear mother of Deborah, William (Elizabeth), Michael (Sue), and Paul II (Brenda); cherished Yia Yia of Joseph (Kim), Theresa (Kyle), Paul III, William II, Gabriella (Nick), Olivia, Samuel, Gabriel, Adrianna, Isabella; and Yiayoula to Dominic, Cameron, Kourtney-Sophia, and Riley.

 

Sophia was born of Greek immigrants from Kalamata and Patras, Greece, in Beaver Dam, WI, and was raised in Fond du Lac, WI, with 4 sisters and a brother. Sophia was passionate about her Greek heritage and her upbringing, often visiting the home where she was raised to see her sister-in-law Joan and nephew James. Her Greek Orthodox faith was the center of her kind, loving, caring, and generous spirit. She and her late husband Paul were prominent members of the Greek community and Annunciation parish, where Paul was a past President of both the Parish Council and AHEPA (Chapter 43), and Sophia was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and Philoptochos for many years.

 

She loved to volunteer her time and support the annual Church Festival where she found her niche as the customer greeter (taste-tester) in the Baklava sundae tent.
Sophia embodied the most honorable of characteristics, most notably unconditional love for her family. She loved to travel, with many memorable trips around the world where she collected timeless keepsakes. She was loved dearly and will be missed. May her memory be eternal.

 

Services will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 9400 West Congress Street,  Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, with Visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM immediately followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Ciprian Sas officiating. The Service will be live-streamed on the church Facebook page. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
