“King of the Road”
Entered into Eternal Life at the age of 86 on January 2, 2019. He is now reunited with Sally, his loving wife of 59 years. Devoted and generous father of Bonnie (Ricky) Kappus, Brett (Janet) Henning and Bruce (Ann) Henning. Proud grandfather of Matthew (Eden), Jessica (Ashley), Erick (Melanie), Kyle, Troy, Jenna (Jesse), the late Brian, and 9 great-grandchildren. Norm also left behind many other relatives and friends.
Norm was a salesman for The Leverenz Shoe Company for 28 years and spent another 8 years as part of the Durango Boot Company. He was known for his honesty in sales, only selling his customers what he knew could be sold to their clients. He treated each customer like family, championing many mom & pop stores to do what he could to contribute to their success.
An avid golfer, Norm was a member of the Hartford Country Club. His hole-in-one trophy proudly displayed in the family home exemplified his enjoyment of the sport. Norm also looked forward to his annual fishing trip with life-long friends. A natural athlete, Norm enjoyed various other sporting activities like horseback riding and bowling, even rolling a perfect 300 game in league play.
Norm would always look forward to creating invaluable memories of boating and sailing during the summer months at the Henning family cottage on Big Cedar Lake. The King of the Road was, above all else, devoted to his wife and family. As head of household, he made it his duty to ensure everyone remain grounded to their Christian faith.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Angel Seri for her exceptional, loving care during the past year. Norm enjoyed her company and she became a part of the family.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive in Brookfield, WI on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM.
During his life on earth, Norm religiously gave to a large number of charities.
In honor of his generosity and in lieu of donations to the family,
