Reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Virginia, on August 21, 2008. Cherished father of Marilyn (Mark) Zuehlke, Kathleen (Thomas) Wilson and Alan (Pamela) Schwister. Loving grandfather of Brian, Susan (Brett), Kyle, Ryan and Michelle. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Virginia, on August 21, 2008. Cherished father of Marilyn (Mark) Zuehlke, Kathleen (Thomas) Wilson and Alan (Pamela) Schwister. Loving grandfather of Brian, Susan (Brett), Kyle, Ryan and Michelle. Further survived by other relatives and friends. A lifetime Milwaukee resident, Ray owned and operated the Schwister Shoe Store. He was a veteran of WWII. As a member of the U.S. Army, he completed tours of duty in the Southwest Pacific and was a proud recipient of three Bronze Stars and other citations. Ray was an avid baseball fan. He played with the Lake Five fast-pitch softball team and helped the team win several championships. He was an active member of The Granville Interfaith Senior Center. Ray lived his final years at Alexian Village where he was known for his sense of humor, love of music and root beer floats. He will be missed by many. Special thanks to the staff at Alexian Village and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center for the loving care they provided Raymond and his family. Visitation at ALEXIAN VILLAGE, CHAPEL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, 9301 N. 76th Street on Monday, August 25, 3:00-5:30 PM. Funeral Mass at 5:30 PM. Burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park on Tuesday.
