In many ways I owe my Milwaukee YMCA career to Dr. Pahle!. As one of my Board Chairs at the Southwest YMCA, he encouraged me and mentored me. During a time when it didn't appear that our capital campaign to build the Southwest YMCA would be successful and I was considering moving on he told me in no uncertain terms, "our job to successfully build a Y for the southwest Milwaukee suburbs was not done, and I needed to work with him and the board to "get the job done". He of course was right and with his leadership we did just that! When we opened the Southwest branch he was there and I will be forever grateful to him as it was one of the great accomplishment of my career thanks in large part to him. He will be missed and I express my condolences to his wife Clarice and his entire family. I will always remember him as one of my heroes! I only wish that I had found out sooner about his death so that I could join his family today to celebrate his life! Thank you Dr. Pahle for all you meant to me. I will miss you and will always value our friendship!

Doc Pahle was an amazing guy and demonstrated enjoyment of his profession and always responded with a genuine engagement when interacting with people. I grew up with Joe as a great friend and the Pahle household was always welcoming and easy to visit. Ray Pahle's legacy will live on through his animal clinic, friendships, his children, and in his generations to come. A life well lived. Rest easy Doc!

As a newly appointed councillor to AAHA, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Paule, first, in 1980. in South Bend, Indiana. He was a great example of a wonderful leader and person. He left an indelible mark on my career as a veterinary professional with people and pets as our focus.

God bless, Dr. Pahle. I met Ray just as he was retiring, when I started at PSAC. You have legions of grateful clients and were a mentor to me on how to practice medicine and live life. Thanks.
