Entered God's loving arms Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 59 years of Betty (nee Kleman). Proud Daddy of Dr. Michelle (Dr. Richard Holubowicz) and Chantelle (Mohsen) Salari. Cherished Grandpa of Sawyer and the late Skyler. Dear Uncle of Sandy Urban. Preceded in death by his parents Hugo and Valeria (nee Podolski) and brother Henry Urban.Ray was born on November 6, 1924. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps when he was 17 and proudly served his country in both WW II and the Korean War. Ray attended Marquette University where he met and married the love of his life, Betty, in 1951. He graduated from Marquette University Law School in 1954 and practiced probate and family law for over 35 years. He was a lifetime resident of West Allis, and served his community as past president of the South Side Lion's Club and the Milwaukee Finance Toastmaster's Club. He was also a founding member of the Milwaukee Ballet Company. Ray was an active member of his faith community at Mary Queen of Heaven Church and was a charter member of the parish.Ray had a lifelong passion for airplanes and had his pilot's license. He was a long-time EAA Aviation member and loved to attend the annual EAA Fly-In in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with his daughter Chantelle, an aerospace engineer and pilot who shares his love of flying. He and Betty loved watching all of the Green Bay Packer games through the years, and he even got to see the Packers win one more Super Bowl. What he really loved to do the most was go to the cottage on Lake Wisconsin every chance he could. He said it was the best place in the world to raise a family. Ray spent countless hours working on the property and remodeling the cottage he originally built with his father. At the lake he loved to fish, visit with friends, and tell jokes that never failed to get a laugh out of Betty. He probably told his infamous "monk" joke to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. Ray was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He was an honest, kind, and gentle man. His entire world revolved around his family, who will love and miss him and his beautiful clear blue eyes forever.Memorial Gathering at MARY QUEEN OF HEAVEN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2322 South 106th Street, West Allis, Saturday, March 5th, 12:00-1:00 PM.
