Of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Passed from earthly life on February 16, 2012. Age 87. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Vander Plaats). Loving father of Cheri (Mark) Damkoehler, Grant (Jane), Kermit (Janine), and the late Andrew Smith. Dear brother of David (Marilyn) Smith and the late Marcia (Anthony) Oliver. Also cherished by two granddaughters, Jenna and Leah, other relatives and friends.Memorial Gathering including coffee & family photos at UNDERWOOD MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH, Saturday, February 25, 10:00-11:00 AM. Memorial Service 11:00AM, followed by a potluck lunch in the Fellowship Hall.Ken came to Milwaukee in 1956 and worked at the Milwaukee Christian Center (a United Way neighborhood agency) for 33 years. He started there as a boys youth worker for several years, while serving as pastor of Hulbert Baptist Church, and later became the M.C.C. executive director. He also enjoyed singing bass in his church choir.
