November 14, 1953 – March 24, 2022
Surrounded by those closest to him, Rick passed away on March 24, 2022, aged 68 after a yearlong battle with leukemia (AML).
Born in Toledo, Ohio, he is survived by his loving wife of 16 years Cynthia “Cindy” (née Ivancic) children Sarah, John & Alex Gross, granddaughter Madilyn Press, stepdaughter Colleen Clexton, his siblings Ron (Amy) Gross, Steve (Susan) Gross, Nancy (Bob) Seybold, Karen (Greg) Bakies, and Tim Gross, father-in-law Charles Ivancic, brothers-in-law Mark (Colleen) and Paul (Leah) Ivancic, several nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Rick had a passion for travel, art, photography, hiking and bicycle riding. A dedicated Civil War reenactor and amateur historian, he was an active member of Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Camp #4, Cushing’s Battery and the Civil War Roundtable of Milwaukee. If you look in the background of the movie Gettysburg, you’ll see Rick’s work as an extra. Rick enjoyed many interests, but none more so than cheering on Ohio State and the Green Bay Packers – he & Cindy even invested in the Packers as shareholders.
Rick had a noteworthy career as a designer of plastic moldings and packaging; he is listed as the designer on over 50 patents. Starting with Seaquist Closures, he was a successful entrepreneur with Arrow Development and RA Gross Design until his retirement in October 2020.
