Richard “Dick” Gilbert

Richard “Dick” Gilbert, 81, of Hartford, WI was born on March 6th, 1940, and was called home by our Lord on Saturday, November 13th, 2021. Loving father of Steven (Kathy) Gilbert, Kevin (Andrea) Gilbert, and Michelle (James) Cemke. Proud grandpa of Elizabeth (Joe) Domkoski, Amanda Gilbert, April Gilbert, Adam (Meghan) Wygans, Ryan Gilbert (fiancé Laura DeVoe), Reed Gilbert, Morgan Holmes, John Schaller, Jordan Schaller, Jessica Cemke, Jenna Cemke, Nick Cemke, and Meghan Cemke. Great-grandpa to Joshua Moore, Alexzander Domkoski, Jaxson Domkoski, Lincoln Domkoski, Mackenzie Wygans, and Brennen Wygans. Caring brother of Marlene Gilbert. Survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Gilbert, and his brother, Donald Gilbert.

Dick was a devoted father and grandfather. He also had a strong work ethic, and prior to his retirement, he was the proud owner of Gilbert’s True Value Hardware store in Brookfield. He enjoyed traveling to his timeshare in the Bahamas. He was a charitable man, as well as a man of great faith. Dick will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
