Richard Stanley Green was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 25, 1947 to Stanley and Ruth (Hitz) Green. He grew up in Wauwatosa and was baptized and confirmed in the WELS faith at St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Richard graduated from Wauwatosa East High School in 1965 and enlisted in the Air Force on July 7, 1967. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, was stationed at Kinchloe Air Force Base in Michigan and was discharged in July 1972.

Richard was a strong Christian and was active in his church where he met the love of his life, Linda Scharschmidt Geisler in 1990. They married on March 25, 1995 at St. James. Richard was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan, Minnesota Gopher fan from 1986 to 1990, and a Formula One racing fan. Richard and Linda enjoyed the many football games they attended. He loved to travel and they made yearly treks up north to the Rhinelander area. They travelled to Israel in 2011 and the highlight for Richard was being able to visit Masada.

Richard died on May 15, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, WI surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda Jeanne, sister Arlyne (George) Selvestra, brother-in-law Michael (Rosie) Scharschmidt, sister-in-law Gayle (Wayne) Schultz, niece Denice Green, nephew John (Wendy) Selvestra, nephews James (Cindy) Iverson, Joseph Iverson, and Douglas Schultz and nieces Cherie (Patrick) Rupprecht, April (Jeff) Westfield and Sara Schultz. Also surviving Richard are his great-nephews, Shane, Luke and Clint Birtzer, Drew and Blake (Alexa) Selvestra, Connor and Merrick Westfield and great-great-nephew Owen Selvestra. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 20th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee with a service to follow. Committal will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield with military honors.
