Robert Horkhiemer January 3rd, 1938 – August 1st, 2021
Bob entered eternal life on August 1st in the presence of his family after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Bob loved visiting family farms, gardening, bird watching, hiking, camping, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a big laugh and loved to talk with people. He was a man of deep faith in God. He loved to pray and to study theology. His faith in God impacted the way he lived out his everyday life. He had tremendous integrity and concern for others. He owned and operated Bob on North Barbershop for 35 years.
He will be missed by his beloved wife of 54 years, Kathleen; his dear children Mary Ann (Alex), Kelly (Rick), Rob (Katie), daughter-in-law Courtney, and Kevin (Caryn); his cherished grandchildren Evan (Bibbit), Stephen (Alicia), Michael (Cecilia), Daniel, Katie, Jacob, Alaina, Catherine, Jonah, John, Clare, Emmeline, Joshua, Danny, Solomon, and Dominic; and his great-grandchildren Amber, Regina, Charles, Felicity, and Stella. He is further survived by his sister Patricia (Anthony) and sister-in-law, Maureen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Wilma, his brother Ronald, and his sons John and Daniel.
A special thanks to Rent-a-Daughter, Home Instead, Luther Manor Hospice, Jane Ruh, and the many dedicated caregivers for their loving care of Bob throughout his illness. Thank you also to the BILD team members (Ed, Troy, Dan, and Melissa) who provided modifications and equipment for Bob’s care.
There will be a wake on Sunday, August 8th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home in Milwaukee, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
