Robert H “Bob” Baker passed away on November 16, 2020 at the age of 71 after complications from COVID-19. Born on May 7,1949, Bob graduated from West Milwaukee High School in 1968 and then went on to spend a year at the University of Richmond Virginia on a football scholarship. He then went to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education and master’s in counseling psychology. While at UWM, Bob played football and ran track earning him induction to the school’s Hall of Fame in 2004. He spent 30 years as a guidance counselor at Kettle Moraine High School (KMHS). He also coached track, football, and led the chess club at KMHS. A sailing and yacht enthusiast, Bob spent summers as the club manager of the Pewaukee Yacht Club. Bob enjoyed learning about eastern religions and spent a month in India. He also enjoyed playing guitar and composing songs. Bob was always happy to lend an ear and give his advice to the many people he knew.

Bob was a loving papa to his two children Heather (Tony) Buss of Austin, TX and Paul (Jennifer) Baker of Seattle, WA. Proud grandfather of Sebastian, Jude, Cozette, and Gavin Buss and step-grandfather of Savannah Elger. Bob is further survived by his former spouse, Debra, and brothers Ron (Christine) Baker and Greg (Tina) Baker along with nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Clarence.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Due to safety concerns with COVID-19, we encourage family and friends of Bob to watch the livestream of the service on Tuesday, November 24, at 5:00 PM.

The words spoken by Paul and Heather paid tribute to the loving relationship they shared with their Dad. Bob loved his kids and and was so very proud of them. Bob was a unique individual with a sensitive heart and soul. He reached out to many with unconditional affection and understanding. Please know that we were so sorry to hear about the passing of Bob Baker. He is the dear father of our son-in-law Paul Baker. He was so loved by Paul, his wife Jennifer (our daughter) and our granddaughter Savannah. We remembered talking with him while on a family vacation to the Grand Canyon. He ha a wonderful sense of humor. May he rest in peace.

We are very sorry for your loss. We have both known Bob for many years. Joan went to Pershing Grade School with Bob and both of us went to WeMiHi with him. We met in our freshman year at West Milw High and had a fun two years together. We were chosen Snowball King and Queen. What an Honor! Bob was my first real love and I have wonderful Memories. I’ll miss you Bob.Love, Suzie
