Robert Peter Gilane

Age 82, of Brookfield, WI passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at his home. He was born September 30, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI, to the late William John and Catherine Marie (Schmidt) Gilane.

Robert (Bob);attended St. Michael’s Grade School and graduated from West Division High School. He played football with the Catholic Youth Organization. His first full time employer was the Harley Davidson Motor Company in the 1950s. He was proud to serve our country as a member of the Air Force Reserves for 6 years. He retired from A. O. Smith after working there for over 30 years. He married the love of his life, Patricia J. Nee Dibble on April 30, 1983. Robert had a strong faith life, being a member of Elmbrook Church of Brookfield and was very active at the local YMCA. He loved spending time with family, playing cards, bowling, golf, music and dance. His greatest passion was watching his family grow-up.

Survivors include one brother: James (Kitty) Gilane of Legend Lake Keshena, two sons: Jeff (Cynthia) Gilane of Caledonia and Kevin (Marie) Bye of Greenfield, three daughters: Tammy (Robert) Hanson of Milwaukee, Deanna Gilane of Peshtigo, Kary (Marty) Langenfeld of Princeton, MN.; six grandchildren: Brandon, Ryan, Lauren, Jacob, Nicholas, Katie and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patrica Gilane, his sister Catherine Dolores Gilane and brother, William (Sonny)Gilane, Jr.

Visitation will be at Krause Funeral Home at 21600 West Capital Drive, Brookfield on Saturday December 8, 2018 from 3:00 PM – 6:45 PM with service starting at 7:00 PM. Internment will be Sunday December 9, 2018 10:00 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park 13235 West Capital Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
